The Structure of Research Questions in Randomized Controlled Trials in the Rehabilitation Field

Objective The aim of this study is to assess whether and how the PICO (Population, Intervention, Comparator, Outcomes) format described frame research questions in randomized controlled trials looking at effectiveness rehabilitation interventions. Design A methodological was conducted. Randomized field, published between July 1, 2019, December 31, were included. framing primary question from each trial evaluated. Results total 97 included analysis. most frequent as an “objective” statement (55%), 33% articles, stated together with a “hypothesis” description. All elements present 55% questions, but only 49% have used suggested by Cochrane. Conclusion findings suggest that specific item about “research question” rationale drove proposed design following form Cochrane should be RCT Rehabilitation Checklist.
